LVS Custom Paints offers wallpaper installation in Atlantic County, NJ, for accent walls, powder rooms, bedrooms and full rooms. Most wallpaper problems start with the wall underneath, so we repair and prime the surface before the first strip goes up, then hang the paper with the pattern lined up and the seams tight.
What's Included in Our Wallpaper Installation
- A walkthrough of the room and the paper you have picked, so the plan fits the wall
- Wall repair, sanding and a primer made for wallpaper, so the paper grips and can come off later
- Layout planned from the room's focal point, so the pattern lands where you see it most
- Pattern matching from strip to strip and clean, tight seams
- Careful trimming around trim, outlets, switches, windows and doors
- Floors and furniture protected, and the room cleaned up when we finish
Why Wall Prep Matters for Wallpaper
Wallpaper shows everything behind it. A patched hole, a ridge of old paint or a glossy finish can show through or keep the paper from sticking. We fix dents and cracks, sand the wall flat and roll on a wallpaper primer first. That primer helps the paper bond, and it also protects the drywall so the paper can be removed down the road without tearing the wall apart.
How We Hang It
Before we cut a single strip, we plan where the seams will fall and where the pattern starts, usually from the most visible wall or the center of a feature wall. We hang each strip plumb, match the pattern to the one beside it, smooth out air pockets, and trim the top, bottom and openings by hand. Bold patterns, small powder rooms and walls that are not perfectly square all take extra planning, and we talk through those details at the estimate.
Out With the Old, In With the New
If there is old wallpaper on the wall now, we can take care of that first. We remove the old paper and glue, repair the wall, prime it and then hang the new paper, so one crew handles the whole job from start to finish. If you would rather paint some walls and paper others, we handle both.

Wallpaper Installation Questions
Do I buy the wallpaper or do you?
Most homeowners choose and buy their own wallpaper. Tell us what you are looking at before you order, and we will help you figure out how many rolls the room needs, since patterned paper uses more to keep the design lined up.
Can you hang wallpaper over old wallpaper?
We do not recommend it. Old paper can loosen and bubble under the new layer, and seams can show through. We take the old paper off, repair the wall and prime it so the new wallpaper goes on a clean, stable surface.
Do you hang a single accent wall?
Yes. A single feature wall is one of the most popular wallpaper jobs. We plan the layout so the pattern is centered and balanced on that wall.
How long does wallpaper installation take?
It depends on the size of the room, the pattern and how much wall prep is needed. Many accent walls and powder rooms take about a day, and full rooms take longer. You will get a clear timeline with your estimate.
Do you paint the rest of the room too?
Yes. Because we are painters, we can paint the ceiling, trim, doors and other walls along with the wallpaper, so everything is finished on one schedule.
Can new wallpaper be removed later?
When the wall is primed properly first, wallpaper comes off much more cleanly when you are ready for a change. That is one reason we never skip the primer.
